What's included in the order?

Inside the box you get one CalmPress SOS wristband in white or black and one CR2032 battery, with the 433MHz alarm host or RF433-to-WiFi bridge sold separately. The band measures 46.5 x 42 x 15.5mm, weighs about 50g, transmits on 433MHz at 10mW using the EV1527 protocol and runs from -25°C to 75°C

Do I need anything else to make it work?

Yes. CalmPress is the button only. It sends a 433MHz EV1527 signal to an alarm host or RF433-to-WiFi bridge, which you buy separately, and that hub relays the alert over 2.4GHz WiFi to the app on your phone. If you already run a 433MHz hub for door or motion sensors, check that it accepts EV1527 devices and pair the wristband to it

Will it work when my parent really needs it?

Your parent presses the red button and it sends its alarm within 0.8 seconds, with timing built in to help avoid false triggers from everyday bumps. One CR2032 is rated for over 12 months of normal use, and the band has a rated range of 15 to 30 meters indoors. Add a battery swap to your smoke detector routine and do a test press from the bathroom and bedroom on day one
